[Wissrech] Talk: Simon Gemmrich "Boundary integral equations for the Laplace-Beltrami operator on the unit sphere $S^2$"
Dear colleagues, I would like to announce a talk of my guest, Simon Gemmrich (McGill University, Montreal) Time: Monday, 11.05, 10:15 Place: Room LWK 011 (Endenicher Allee, 60, LWK Altbau) Title: "Boundary integral equations for the Laplace-Beltrami operator on the unit sphere $S^2$" Abstract: In this talk I will show how standard ideas from boundary integral methods can be adapted and used to solve boundary value problems for the Laplace--Beltrami operator on the unit sphere. As an example, I will derive a direct boundary element method for the Dirichlet problem on a Lipschitz subsurface of the sphere. Some numerical examples along with basic error estimates for the single layer equation will be presented. Please feel free to forward this announcement to anyone who might be interested in. Best regards, Alexey Chernov
