Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Jose Abstract We present a new extension operator for virtual coarse spaces which can be used in domain decomposition methods for nodal elliptic problems in 2D. In particular, we consider a two-level overlapping Schwarz algorithm. The bound for the condition number of the preconditioned system is similar to previous studies based on discrete harmonic extension, with the advantage that the new operator saves computational time and it is suitable for general irregular subdomains. Some numerical experiments that verify the result are shown. -- Jose A.
