September 2013 nach multimedialen Produktionen von jungen Studentinnen und Studenten bis 25 Jahre. Wir freuen uns auf spannende Projekte, Semesterarbeiten oder gar Bachelor- und Masterarbeiten! Dies können Computerspiele, Apps und Animationsfilme sein, aber auch Klanginstallationen, interaktive Performances und Medienkunstprojekte. Der Kreativität sind keine Grenzen gesetzt, solange mehrere Medien inhaltlich oder technisch miteinander verbunden werden. Eingereicht werden können bis zu drei Projekte pro Teilnehmer, Institutionen können pro Wettbewerbsjahr bis zu fünf Projekte anmelden. Dabei ist es unerheblich, ob das Projekt allein oder im Team erstellt wurde. Dank der Unterstützung vieler bundesweiter Partner können jährlich über 20 Projekte in fünf Alterskategorien und fünf Sonderkategorien mit Geld und Sachpreisen im Gesamtwert von mehr als 10.000€ ausgezeichnet werden. Die Gewinner werden zum MB21-Abschlussfestival vom 15.-17. November 2013 nach Dresden eingeladen, wo verschiedene Multimediastationen, Workshops und natürlich die feierliche Preisverleihung auf sie warten. Hier findet sich auch genügend Zeit und Raum, alle bundesweiten Preisträger kennenzulernen, sich auszutauschen und zu vernetzen. Dear current and future user of our systems, HLRS installed HERMIT, a Cray XE6 system with AMD Interlagos processors and a performance of 1 PFlop/s. Currently, the system is extended by a Cray XC30 system. We invite current and future users to participate in a special course on porting applications to our Cray architectures: Cray XE6 / XC30 Optimization Workshop Oct. 28-31, 2013 at HLRS, Allmandring 30, Seminar room. On the first three days, specialists from Cray will support you in your effort porting and optimizing your application on our Cray XE6 / XC30. On the last day, Georg Hager and Jan Treibig from RRZE will present detailed information on optimizing codes on the multicore processors. The course was developed by HLRS, EPCC, JSC and ZIH. Hands-on sessions will allow users to test and understand the basic constructs of MPI, OpenMP, and PETSc. Message Passing with MPI is the major programming model on large distributed-memory systems in high-performance computing. OpenMP is dedicated to shared memory systems.
