März 2008 23:50 Betreff: Mathematical Models in Life and Social Sciences, L'Aquila (Italy) 6-19 July 2008 The First Intensive Programme on "Mathematical Models in Life and Social Sciences" July 6-19, 2008 University of L'Aquila, Italy http://www.mathmods.eu/ip The First Intensive Programme on "Mathematical Models in Life and Social Sciences" (MathMods2008) will be held at the University of L'Aquila (Italy) from 6th July until 19th July 2008. The programme will be centred on applied mathematics viewed as an interdisciplinary area at the interface with biology, medicine, economics and social sciences. It will cover several methodological areas, such as the analysis of partial differential equations, numerical calculus and simulations, stochastic calculus, kinetic modelling and reaction-diffusion processes. It will consist of a set of short courses (both basic and more advanced ones) and seminars, with master students and doctoral students as target audience.
