Am Di. 15.02 um 17:00h, Raum 5.002 (Wegeler Str. 6) spricht er zum Thema "On hp-error estimates for hybrid discontinuous Galerkin methods" Absract: In this talk, we discuss the derivation of rigorous hp stability and error estimates for a class of hybrid discontinuous Galerkin methods for elliptic model problems. Our analysis strongly relies on certain stability and approximation results for projection operators, which will be discussed during the presentation. We start with introducing a hybrid DG method for the Poisson problem, comment on the relation to more standard DG methods, and develop a rigorous a-priori hp error analysis. Next, we discuss the generalization of the method to the Stokes problem, and we proof the inf-sup stability of the method, based on new stability estimates for the L2 projection operator. In the third part of the presentation, we review a general framework for the derivation of a-posteriori error estimates for hybrid DG methods. We discuss two specific estimators, which yield certified upper bounds for the error without generic constants. Based on stability estimates for the Oswald and a Raviart-Thomas type interpolation operator, we also derive hp estimates for the efficiency of the estimators. Über Ihr Kommen würde ich mich freuen.
